Open Position: Foreign Policy Program Coordinator (Part-time)
IstanPol is an Istanbul-based independent think-tank focusing on democratization, development and foreign policy. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Foreign Policy Program Coordinator.
As foreign policy is a parameter shaping the political life in Turkey and elsewhere, IstanPol Foreign Policy Program aims to provide fresh insights, contribute to the ongoing debates with multidimensional and multilateral perspectives, and overall enhance and promote democratic policymaking.
Position Overview
This position involves coordinating program activities including publications and research projects, organizing events, facilitating discussions, and engaging with stakeholders in the field of foreign policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and dissemination of the activities of the IstanPol Foreign Policy Program including publications and research projects,
- Organize and manage events, including seminars, workshops, and conferences, to promote dialogue and exchange on foreign policy issues,
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and practitioners in the field of foreign policy,
- Draft reports, policy briefs, and other publications to communicate research findings and policy recommendations,
- Work closely with researchers, analysts, and other staff members to ensure the successful implementation of program activities.
Eligibility
To be eligible for IstanPol Foreign Policy Coordinator, applicants are to;
- either be pursuing their PhD in political science and/or international relations or have successfully defended it (some exceptions may apply in case of high competence),
- be specialized in an area of study that is directly related to Turkish Foreign Policy,
- have at least 3 years of experience in foreign policy research, program coordination, or a related role,
- be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team,
- demonstrate a strong interest in working in a policy-oriented environment,
- have strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills,
- have proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
Affiliated with IstanPol, Program Coordinator will have the chance to work in the creative and dynamic research environment with a dedicated team.
The position is to be considered as a part-time job. The stipend and workload will be negotiated accordingly.
