Sıla Sezge Çınar received her B.A. degree from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at İstanbul University. Çınar received her Master’s degree co-ordinately in Social Projects and NGO Management at İstanbul Bilgi University and in the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University with her thesis “The Syrian Refugee Crisis from the Perspectives of Different NGOs in Sweden and Turkey”.
Çınar worked for Caritas Turkey, Vatican Embassy in 2015. She also worked as a Refugee Protection Officer for the HRDF which was the implementing partner of the UNHCR Turkey in 2016. She had a chance about her experience in civil society and in the field to hand down her students while working as a lecturer at İstanbul Bilgi University in 2017. In addition, she had several interviews for AGOS and BirGün Daily newspaper around these years.
Between 2018-2022, Çınar was the director of Rural Development Program at Özyeğin University. At the same time, she was the co-founder of Interdisciplinary Child Rights Laboratory at Özyeğin University and she was a part-time project coordinator at one of the biggest culture & arts fund of EU named CultureCIVIC at Goethe Institut. In 2022, she worked as a manager of Permaturk Foundation. She’s currently working for Tilya Ecological Social Cooperative as a co-founder.
