Gülbeyaz Sert received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University in 2013. She completed her master's degree in the same department in 2020 with her thesis titled Invented Spaces Beyond Legal Arrangements: Living Together with Syrian Refugees and Practices of Neighborhood Associations. She worked as an operation director, consultant, and project coordinator in private sector and non-governmental organizations after receiving her bachelor's degree and during her postgraduate education. Her interests include comparative politics, political philosophy, migration studies, and gender. She is currently working at an international project on immigration and sport at İstanbul Bilgi University.
